I really love doing empties post because I can do mini reviews, plus the fact that I finished up the product I would pretty much have formed an impression on the product.I did name this July 2013 but this was really more of a June 2013, since I did collect them till June. Hence if you see another post in the next few weeks, just so you know I do not eat my products. lol!
So in this edition, there is a really good balance of all different types of products. ranging from makeup, skincare, haircare & bodycare! Let’s just jump right into it shall we because we do have a whole bunch of products to cover!
So for haircare I managed to finish quite a few items! I honestly buy products then go into a I-don’t-want-this-to-ever-finish mindset and will stop using it for a
long while HAHA!
Moroccan Oil Hair Mask- I bought this and the moroccan oil (which is still going strong) and to be honest, I liked it but didn’t love it enough to feel like it’s irreplaceable. It does help make my hair feel soft but nothing too wooowww.
Kérastase Nuritive K Oléo Relax Slim - I got this product quite long ago, I remember when I started using it I love it! It has a mango scent (if I’m not wrong) & is a yellow pastey mask. It does make my hair feel softer but honestly I don’t see it working it’s magic on my frizz.
CharlesWorthington Take Away – I received this in a Bellabox & I love how the bottle looks. It doesn’t blow me away as something which I have to purchase but it did work well as a shampoo to clean my hair.
Simply Organic Shampoo - I really did love the shampoo, I feel like it was gentle on my scalp but still did a really good job at cleaning my hair! Honestly I would have never tried this product out if I did not receive it. For the price tag, I do feel like there are other shampoos out there which do a better job (control frizz, tame hair etc…) for me.
Burt’s Bee Avocado Butter Pre Shampoo – I absolutely loved this product! In fact I raced out to get another tube as soon as I was done. To be honest there isn’t the whole lot in the tube, if you’re like me & have thick hair this is going to last you for only 3-4 washes. It is like a green-ish pastey product which you apply on your hair before shampoo, leave it on for about 10-15 mins and rinse off. This product WILL weigh your hair down, which coincidentally is exactly what I want. I have very very thick hair, bordering on lion’s mane (lol) so this really helps tame my hair, it also makes my hair really soft and shiny. However if you have fine/thin hair it might be too heavy on your hair.
The Body Shop Lychee Blossom Shower Gel - I really loved this shower gel, it lathers up nicely & smells divine. Having said that I do love anything lychee, I’m literally obsessed with that little red fruit (no joke). I think TBS shower gels are really nice and you can almost get them on some kind of deal.
Victoria Secret Pure Seduction - I usually don’t go for body creams which come in tubes because I tend to find them very very light and not hydrating enough for me. I do like to slather a nice amount of cream before heading to bed just to keep my hands and legs moisturized. So I was really impressed that despite coming in a tube it was a really thick almost butter like consistency. I absolutely love the scent, it has a very very sweet scent with splashes of berries. Despite being sweet, it isn’t the super sickly sweet kind of scent. I think I’ve already repurchased this!
Lush Sympathy For The Skin - Lush products are always really pampering on the skin and I find that despite being natural, gentle and all that jazz, they usually work really well! This lotion has a banana scent which is quite strong. If you do not like banana I recommend that you stay clear. I am not a fan of bananas but the scent did grow on me. There were even little tiny black dots (I’m assuming it’s from the core of the banana) & it is really very hydrating despite being a lotion. Sympathy for the skin, it hits the nail on the head! I would repurchase this but I’ve got tooo many products to go through now and Lush products do have a relatively short shelf life.
I find that because I use skincare everyday, it is always the easiest to go through!
Chanel Hydra Beauty Sérum - I liked this serum, didn’t love it. Probably because I was comparing it against Clarins HydraQuench which I honestly cannot live without. It was a very nice product, it smells amazing by the way. Hydration is something I really can’t measure and tell you how well it performed but I can tell you that my skin did not feel dry or tight whilst using it. I think if you are a Chanel skincare fan, you would enjoy this, but personally I feel hydraquench is just a notch above.
Clairins HydraQuench Intensive Serum - I cannot rave enough about this serum, I should really just do a post all about it. In case you don’t already know, I love it & have repurchased it like a gazillion times.
Clarisonic Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head - To be very honest with you guys, I don’t change my Clarisonic brush as often as they say I should. If I am not wrong it is recommended to change it every 3 months but I don’t feel like they wear out that much after 3 months. So since having the Clarisonic this is only my 2nd change, I do love the deep pore head especially for my T-zone. It is slightly more firm than the usual brush head I am used to so I don’t really like it on my U-zone. Personally when I used this brush I just used a couple of secs lesser on my U-zone. Overall I do really like this particular brush head, please bare in mind I’ve only tried 2 types – Sensitive skin & this.
Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb - I got this because when Belif first hit Sg everyone was raving about how awesome it is. Personally I find it, okay. It might also be because I don’t really enjoy asian skincare because of the texture but I don’t see any wow factor. I feel like it’s an okay product, not a MUST HAVE! Okay you get what I mean.
Wooo, I am sooooo proud to be able to have some makeup products that I am done with!
Shu Uemura UV Under-Base Mousse - I remember getting this product because I saw how Sara’s makeup stayed perfect despite both of us being out in the sweltering hot sun! I knew I needed whatever she had on & it was this! I really love this product, it really keeps your makeup looking fresher for longer which is something that I always seek to achieve in our humid weather. I think it makes a really great base, plus it has SPF which means lesser steps in the morning! I loved it so much that I repurchased and got mom to get one too & she loves it too
MAC Studio Sculpt in NC45 - I remember loving this product alot when I was still in Aussie but somehow in Sg it does feel abit heavy on the skin. Don’t get me wrong the coverage can be sheered and a little product do go a long way, but you can get really full coverage with it too! It’s rich texture which makes it feel slightly heavier compared to water-based products. I must say that it does give the skin a really nice flawless look without being cakey, plus it doesn’t make me shiny through out the day. I would repurchase it if I were to be going to a cold country or a place which is less humid.
Benefit The Porefessional - Another primer which I absolutely love! I just love how the skin look sooo flawless with this on. It does have silicones so if you break out easily this might not be your favourite product. It helps makeup sit really nicely and it also do help in making your pores less visible too!
BareMinerals Original – I usually steer clear of products which are loose, it’s just generally more messy and I have to give it abit more care and attention when using it. This product is worth me making a mess, I love the finish of it and how it looks on it’s own. Most mineral makeup are supposed to wear well without any foundation under, they kinda work as a foundation. I really beg to differ though, I don’t feel like this works as a foundation it buffs into the skin so nicely that my natural skin is still showing. I wear this on it’s own & it feel so lightweight and application is pretty effortless (in terms of buffing). I have since then repurchased the matte formulation which I am on the fence about, I do prefer the original formulation.
Stilla Smudge Pot - Gel liners is probably the only kind of liner I wear on top. I do have pretty oily lids so getting a gel liner that stays put is a challenge. I did enjoy wearing this, it did stay and is very black but it isn’t my favourite. Probably won’t repurchase but it honestly isn’t a bad product, it just has too many contenders on the market.
OPI Expert Touch Remover - I would never have thought I would spend $30+ on a remover and honestly I know it is abit frivolous but this remover just removes glitter/dark polishes sooo much easier than any others I’ve tried! I do think it’s worth the money since I really do hate removing my polish when it’s very dark or there are glitter bits. I did repurchase it but I don’t think it’s a ‘must have’. I mean most removers will do the job, it’s just how much longer it will take. lol!
Bioderma Créaline H2O - Personally I’ve never tried this product till I started selling it (shameless plug.lol). I’ve heard loads of people talk about it but it was always so expensive in Guardian that I didn’t feel it was worth trying. I’ve tried it and am a convert, I really do love it! It feels sooo light, just like water but removes makeup so well. I do still double cleanse my face, but I know alot of people who use this as the only remover/cleanser for their skin. I love it and have repurchased.
Cleansing Express Essence Conc Wash - I love most of cleansing express products but this I really didn’t enjoy that much. I have had this for a pretty long time too but it just took me ages to get through, you have no idea how happy I am to be able to toss this bottle! This is supposed to be a concentrated makeup remover, essentially it has an oil texture and you use it on dry skin. After massaging you add water and rinse off. All works well and every trace of makeup is removed. My issue with it was that, it stings my eyes! I do have eyes which are on the more sensitive side of the spectrum but since it is supposed to be for eye and face makeup I felt like maybe it would work well still. I won’t repurchase this particular product but I do love the other products in the line.
Bifesta Cleansing Toilettes - If you didn’t know Cleansing Express & Bifesta are the same company, they have been recently renamed to Bifesta. I really love these wipes, they came in a pretty huge pack too and they are very moist even till the last wipe They do remove all traces of makeup, I did use them to remove eye makeup and they did not sting my eyes! I like how the seal is not a flimsy plastic piece but a decent kind of ‘lock’ to keep my wipes moist! I have not repurchased just because I do have another pack but this is something which I would love to have if I were to be travelling!
Woooo it just feels amazing to finish all these products! Sorry this post was soooo long. If you’ve made it to the end, you’re a trooper! THANK YOU! I guess I do have alot to say about these products! Haha. Hope you guys enjoy reading empties post and do drop me a comment if you have any questions
