TopShop Beguiled Lipstick & Smart Lip Cream Review.

Since Topshop launched their makeup line in Singapore, I always knew I wanted to get something don’t ask me why it took me 2 years+ to get my first product. That’s just how it went.lol.

Anyways I finally went in & decided to grab these! I’ve been eyeing another polish but I have not seen it in Singapore! >:( I got mine at Topshop ION & if my memory serves me well the lipstick was $19 & lip cream was $13-15(?).

Firstly, why does my lipstick tube look sooo discoloured? The top part just looks soooo yellow! The packaging especially the lipstick feels quite cheap, & when I say that I mean it feels cheaper than drugstore products!

Lipstick in Beguiled & lip cream in Smart (quite a weird name.lol). I do like the polka dots & strips on the packaging!

I loveeee the berry looking colour & I knew I needed the lip cream the minute I saw it! I know the lipstick looks soooo dark, but when worn it’s a very pretty wearable berry colour!

This might be super random & odd, but I love the font for ‘LIPS’ & ‘LIP CREAM’. LOL!

Swatches! They actually looks super pretty on the hand & when applied to the lips it’s very pretty toooo!

Beguiled lipstick on it’s own! It’s quite a pretty colour but has almost no staying power! Considering that it is a darker colour, I would think it would leave abit of the stain but it didn’t!

Okay, so now about the lip cream. It looks kinda pretty on the lips BUT I feel the quality is REALLY lousy! Firstly since it is marketed as a lip cream, I would assume that it would be more creamy, thicker & less runny. I think the reason why they market it as a cream vs gloss is because it is not sticky or tacky. Since it doesn’t have the stickiness they decided it would be apt to name it a lip cream. It just didn’t work because they used the formulation that glosses usually have minus the stickiness which is a no go because that just equates to glossed up face.

This product does not stay on you lips at all! In fact you can get this all over your face, no I’m not kidding. If you go out with this and the wind blows your hair & it touches your lips, get ready for some mess all over your face. While snapping picture I accidentally brushed against the top of my lips, low & behold I had gloss on my NOSE. I mean that is kinda of ridiculous, what kind of lousy the staying power is this.

I think it is mainly because it isn’y sticky. I would tell you to save your pennies on something better, the lipsticks are okay nothing to shout about but definitely skip the lip creams. They are just not worth your pennies albeit the gorgeous colours available.

Have you tried any TopShop makeup products which are worth trying? I’ve heard the polishes are pretty awesome, but I don’t think I’ll be getting them anytime soon!

Maybelline Goodie Bag + Giveaway!

So just before CNY, I went down to the Maybelline office & collected the little goodie bag they prepared for me & I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you Maybelline for being so generous & stay tunned to the end of a giveaway guys! They were super generous & covered almost every aspect of makeup, excluding foundation, everything was covered!

The lips product, baby lips x coloursensational moisture extreme lippie in toffee cream! I loveeee baby lips & I think I own maybe 5-7 baby lips. HAHA in case you were wondering, yes obsessed is my middle name & because I’ve got so many babylips, I will be giving this away!

Maybelline Goodies Bag5

Toffee Cream! A pretty nude-ish colour for me! However it doesn’t feel as hydrating as the other Maybellne lippies i’ve tried, especially the watershine ones! Was expecting it to be more hydrating since it says moisture extreme in it’s name!

Blush ‘em in I love pink! It has 2 colours in the palette! A peachy & a pink colour. I will also be giving this away, just because drugstore blushers just never work on my tanned skin! Regardless of the brand!

The eyes! *flutter lashes*

Eyebrow pencil in grey, when will I ever use grey brow pencil? Does anyone use grey for their brow? Let me know! & masterliner eye pencil which I know alot of people rave about, so I’m pretty stoked to be able to try this!

Colour Tattoo!!!! I’ve bought my fair share of these babies to know that they are pretty awesome. Though because I have very oily lids, i still do need to use a primer underneath but if you don’t then you will probably do fine with just this! Painted purple & audacious asphalt!

What’s New In The Drugstore Haul!

Wooohooo! Last week I heard from GF that the new Revlon & L’orèal products were out in Watsons, being the beauty junkie I was I had to check it out! I went down to Watsons & instagrammed this picture! I did not pick out anything, that was all until….. I went with the GF & well the rest is history. LOL!

This post will just be a haul + swatches! I am planning to do a first impressive blogpost for these products!

Drugstore Haul Feb 2012

My haul! I wanted to get another L’orèal stain but the one I wanted was sold out! I ended grabbing the Revlon lip butter because the colour was just way too gorgeous!

I realised I always gravitate to the same colours & it is soooo evident in this picture. LOL! Revlon addict? hehe. I am a mad Relvon addict, fav drugstore brand *hands down*.

First up, L’orèal Lip Caresse Lipstain! This is supposed to be a dupe for the YSL glossy stain, which I like but I hate the scent!

The applicator is similar to the YSL ones & well, L’orèal owns YSL so I’m really not that surprised. There is a little hole in the applicator so it helps pick up more product too!

Next up the Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede lippies! First up can I just whine a tad bit? I don’t know why but some Watsons stick one of the label on the lipstick itself & OMG it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove, I removed it for my lip butter & it’s mad sticky now! Some of the Watsons actually stick it OUTSIDE on the plastic which they wrap the product in!!! YESSS allllll Watsons should do that! I’m just sooo OCD about how my stuff look, & now I can’t remove it >.<

There were 6 colours out in Watsons & I grabbed 2, though I am still thinking about Sociallite! hehe!

Ultimate Suede x Lip Butter = <3

Don’t they look almost edible? LOL! So yummmmmmyyyyyy! I love how the ultimate suede clicks up, the sound & the way it clicks up, i like!

The lipbutter is just like ‘LOOK at me’ hehe. I cannot wait to wear it! I have a MASSIVE lipbutter collection (no joke), I have been buying & buying & buying. lol. I should do a swatch post of all the lip butters, I think I’ve got 7?! HAHA!

Last thing I grabbed which I grabbed the after day *yes I am kinda addicted to Watsons* LOL! Revlon ColourBurst Lip Gloss which I already own one previously & it has a pretty great formulation. Which reminds me I’ve not used it in ages!!

Swatches of Hot Pink Rose Vibrant & Strawberry Fraise. So prettyyyy, I can’t wait to wear it out & also do a test on their lasting power on the lips!

Look at the sparkle!!! <3 The tube actually really remind me of the Chanel Glossimers!

They come with a flat-ish doe-foot applicator, which is nice for application. Honestly I do prefer doe-foot compared to the brushes applicators!

Tarte Christmas Gift Sets Review + Swatches!

So it’s less than a month till Christmas & I am super hyped up! I love the holiday + I love the fact that brands release special gift sets! Not often do we get to purchase products in sets so I tend to grab the opportunity to try out brands I’ve been eyeing!

This year it is Tarte! I’ve tried their amazonian blusher & I love it, but these gift sets has brought my love for Tarte to a new level!

I love their gift boxes, it’s really pretty & honestly I wouldn’t mind receiving these are gifts! Pretty packaging + awesome products = happy me!

The Tarte cruelty free logo is super adorable! The little rabbit!

The set which I was eyeing the most was the blusher set! I am a blush fanatic so this got me all excited! For $35USD you get 4 baby sized blushers, which honestly is an awesome deal!

The 4 colours that comes in the set, I honestly feel the colours are pretty well chosen. Definitely has one for everyone’s like & skin tone!

Even the baby blushers have the embossed prints! <3 it!

Which is your favourite colour? I love the coral colour the most!

Just a comparison, the top left hand blusher is the full sized blusher which is 5.6g, the baby blusher comes with 3.03g which is really more than enough!

Swatches! I love love love wearing Stellar on my cheeks then using Magic just on the apples of my cheeks! I’m not a big fan of blue based pink but Fantastic is well, pretty fantastic. LOL.

Oh also, all these colours are limited edition, so you can’t actually get them individually & they really do last a long time on your cheeks!

The next thing which I’ve been eyeing from Tarte are the eye liners! I’ve heard that it is super waterproof & I’m always on the hunt for waterproof eyeliner since I’ve got pretty watery eyes!

5 SmoulderEYES + 1 skinny SmoulderEYES in black.

The smoulderEYES can be used as shadows too! Kinda reminds me of NYX jumbo pencils! I’ll try to do a comparison! I haven’t used the smoulderEYES yet! Haven’t been using a lot of makeup!

I do like the skinny smoulderEYES it is actually pretty waterproof too!

A good combination of colours from neutral eye to those who want a bit of a colour but nothing over the top! *like*

Finally the lip Surgence set which I sold away just because I’m not a fan of menthol in my lip products!

It comes with 2 lip lusters, 1 lip tint, 1 natural lip tint & 1 matte lip tint. So it’s a really good balance of different finishes!

I was sooooooo excited to use these but boo, menthol in lip product, really not a fan! I also love how all the names of the colours are printed on the lip pencils + it has a pretty design! <3

I love it because it’s the kind which doesn’t have to be sharpened & they are just so cute!

Swatches of the lip surgence! On the white paper you can see the difference but I think for people of my skin tone it might not show up with much difference! I’m not too sure if it’s hydrating on the lips but I swatches them on my hand & it felt pretty nice!

Chanel, YSL & Sephora Haul

*waves* I am finally back guys!!!

It has been a really interesting past month, decided to fly back to Brisbane & flew back within the next 2 days! + some other stuff happened in my personal life. Phew*

I am back & I will be working harder with more post okay! Post-Nike 10KM run, so pardon me if I get all gibberish! Anyway when I got back to sg, I met GF & of course we hit our usual hangout spots!

The overview! D: hehe.

Polishes were from timtam, GF passed them to me when we met & babylips from Watsons!

So YSL opened in Singapore, whilst I was in Brissy & of course I had to visit YSL when it opened here! I didn’t get this in Singapore though & I am glad I got it in Brisbane because they do not have this colour in Singapore!

I loveeeeee the Rouge Volupté lipsticks! <3 They feel soooooo good on the lips!

So prettttyyyyy! Love how I can sheer if out for a more natural look!

I am probably the last person on the universe talking about this, I’ve been eyeing it since it launched but I’ve been trying to convince myself that I do not need this since I already have the Naked palette, but I succumbed.

Next we hopped over to Chanel, well because I really wanted the lipstick & polish duo! Plus they are all LE, I knew I needed to get them! :/ LOL!

I went in to get the infidel duo, but I got sucked into getting delicastesse! Which I am really I glad I did because I have been using it as my everyday lip colour!

The colours are really similar! I’ve not had a chance to do swatches of nails + lips but they do make a good duo!

Délicatesse is actually slightly satin looking on the lips which I am really enjoying!

Another product which I have been eyeing for a long time too! Plus both Sephora keeps selling out of this colour! I finally managed to get the last one from NAC!

It is a gloss but stays on the lips for a really long time, plus it is really shiny!

Having the world’s worst writers block so i hope you guys enjoyed, the pictures at least. Because I wonder if my words even made any sense. lol!

Haul: MAC Hey, Sailor!

So this haul was sparked because of momsie! MAC send her the mailer that Hey, Sailor & she was super excited!

I got her the turquoise pencil from MAC To The Beach & she adores it! So every time a collection is released she will ask me if there is anything similar! This time she was captivated by Blue Stripe!

This whole haul belongs to momsie! haha, okay except for one item! :p

Naval Blue Pigment, this is AMAZING! I mad love it! We are sharing this, because really no one can ever finish a jar of pigment! hehe. The colour is to die for!

2 lippies! I could not decide which colour mom would prefer so i grabbed both! Red Racer & Sail La Vie! Momsie ended up giving me Red Racer!

Sephora + Pantone Colour of the Year 2012 Swatches!

So if you are following me on instagram (if you’re not why not! haha kidding) you would know that this early afternoon Mister DHL has finally arrived with my parcel. It sparked lot of oohs and ahhs on my instagram! It came in the early afternoon, I tweet, I swatched, I edited and blogged! All in a day, phew!

You would already know from the title where this whole post is going! Sephora + Pantone Universe has termed the Colour of the year 2012, tangerine tango! Honestly I was really intending to get this, however I caved in and honestly I am glad I did because it is gorgeous! :’)

I’ve not used any products from Sephora, I usually do not like ‘home brand’ products, haha I am a little bit biased like that and they are usually not very well made. However I did my fair share of research and have heard how great the products are so I thought, why not give them a chance!

Okay enough of the ramblings, let’s get on to what you guys want to see, the swatches! Do be prepared for picture overload, I just had to it was so gorgeous

Honestly the box is soooo heavy, I paid quite a bit for shipping because of how big, bulky, heavy it is! A little unnecessary to me actually. Though I must admit it is really quite pretty and I was impressed.

Ummm, yeah just trying to show you how HUGE the box is. LOL! Very big right?

When opened *gasp* It has a SUPER DUPER thick plastic on covering it hence the glare you see.

After removing the plastic, everything in it’s own compartment.

I have a weakness for things that come in sets!

Each product has the colour of the year or in some cases inspired by colour of the year.

Okay! Let’s move on to each individual products shall we?

First up, the eyeshadow quad. It opens and closes the way the Inglot palette does, with the magnetic clasp which I really really love! Don’t try opening it the usual way because trust me it won’t, just slide it and it opens!

I love how Carnelian looks because it’s just so well done and appealing to look at!

Swatches without a base, they are nice creamy easy to apply colours. I have not tried them on my eyes so I am not sure on how they wear however the colours look well balanced though I wish there was a brown colour instead of Sparrow. Nevertheless Sparrow is a gorgeous colour which when applied lightly can work in the place of a brown, it might have more dimension too being a plum colour.

The blush duo made me really excited, since I don’t have many matte blushes and this is a matte blusher + colour of the year with shimmer!

Everything has the cute spirals which I really like. Sephora describes Coral as Colour of the year + gold shimmer & Desert flower as a light orange matte.

Prisma Chrome Blush in Apricot Brandy. This I was really not that excited for, it just looks a little blah however when swatched it actually looks really glowy and has a slight gold hint which I adore! It is not powdery at all, it glides on really nicely when swatched. I think this would make an awesome highlight though it was promoted as a blush.

Swatches without a base. I really love the cheek products and I am really excited to try them out!

After I swatched Coral from the duo there seems to be abit of fall out, so there might be a bit of fall out when applied, however I think it’s not excessive and can be worked around.

Colour of the year Creme Lipstick. I love the lipstick ALOT!!! I like the packaging, it has a magnetic snap (I know there is a high end brand that has it too, not sure which one though). The colour of the lipstick is not something which I would gravitate to, but honestly I am not scared to try! It has a sheer finish but it is very buildable!

Color of the Year Lip Gloss comes with a doe foot applicator. Needless to say, the colour is absolutely gorgeous and it is very pigmented too! It does have tiny shimmer bits so if you dislike shimmer you might not love this. However the shimmer make it look sooo gorgeous on the lips, it is slightly tacky but not sticky. The little gold shimmer will still stay on your lips even after the gloss fades away.

The flat doe foot applicator, which I prefer in comparison to the usual doe foot applicator. It has a scent but I really can’t put my finger to it. It is not an unpleasant scent by any means, it has a bit of a fruity scent and even after application I can still get a tiny whiff of the scent.

Color of the Year Eyeliner in Tangerine Tango Twist. I honestly find it a tad weird to get a tangerine colored eyeliner! I might try this on my lower lash line (I am not sure if you can use this in the waterline), when I can use eyeliner again. It is very creamy and soft when swatched it glides on easily, however with easy application comes how lasting will it be on my lids? That’s something we will discover in due time.

Tangerine tango 2012. I love you!!

Retails for USD$68 + the crazy shipping, it amounted to about S$120ish which I feel is really worth it. For 6 products, some products which have more than 1 colour (blush duo & shadow quad) it is really really worth every penny. I was soooo skeptical about ordering a Sephora brand product but I have no regrets. I love most of the products and would definitely be using them You can even order the set and share them with your sister/mother/girlfriends, especially if all of you like different stuff!

Being a BeautyJunkie, the word limited edition always gets me in a terrible way, this being limited edition meant I need it in my life & I am really glad I do Will I only use this in 2012, definitely not! I think I will be getting good use out of this set!

Haul! Butter London, Clarisonic, Stilla & Benefit!

Haaaaaaul, again! lol! There is no cure for this crazy obsession of mine! *tehee*

Just gonna put a disclaimer out there that I was on a shopping bann for a month so that’s why this haul is really quite a big one!

I ordered some ButterLondon polishes from Kissandmakeupny, awaiting another few from Revolve clothing! Ordered this batch with another lovely onsugar girl-alacqueredaffair!:D Her polishes were sooo pretty! I even kid her that I am not gonna mail them to her! hehe!

My first set of ButterLondon polishes! Actually only one polish, The Black Knight! I got the Hardwear (topcoat), Nail Foundation (basecoat) & Horse Power, which is supposed to help strengthen and ‘heal’ your nails! It is not tooo bad! I’ve ony tried it for 3 days but I am impressed already! Full blog post about it soon!

The boring but necessary stuff! I might never get another base, top coat ever! I am totally in love with these!! I am worried to say this since I’ve not tried all the top and base coats in the world, but this is the best yet!

The black Knight. Gorgeous black base with pink, purple and blue shimmers! <3 It’s a tad hard to apply though! Might be because it is a glitter polish! Shall use it again before making a final say on it. I love the colours though!

My damage from Sephora! xD I went there to check out Laura Mercier and Stilla. Both of which I’ve tried. I’ve got the tinited moisturizer so I was not going crazy for that. I went crazy for other stuff though! :p

I got a Clarisonic replacement head with my Sephora $40 voucher, since I didn’t really have anything else I wanted. Thanks to gf who contributed $20ish! I was $20ish short to get the voucher <3 Thought I’ll just stock up on this! Paid another $2 only!

Honestly did not expect to pick anything up from Stilla at all! The one step correct just sucked me and gf in! Totally horrible, we were at Sephora debating if we should get it when we already know we want it badly. I picked the brighten and correct concealer on the 2nd trip that week to Sephora.

How gorgeous is this product? The purple, green and peach swirls just make me want it so badly and it does really help brighten up your complexion too!

When pumped out, you can see the 3 colours! It is really smooth, which makes it a good base for makeup application.

I don’t know why but it looks a tad dark when I swatched it! I hope once it blends it will look alright on my face! Shal try it later!
You can see the lighter and the darker shades of concealer, hopefully it will do a good job brightening the under eye area!

Benefit! I’ve always loved Benefit but never really bought in sg, it’s sooooo much more expensive and the US site offers free shipping. But sometimes I like the feeling of walking out with a bag of goodies to go back and try! Again I bought the POREfessional on a different occasional from Hello Flawless and the lipstick!

I picked POREfessional up when I picked up the Stilla primer, bought 2 primer in a day! Addicted much?

This primer is more for helping to minimize the appearance of pores which I really need!

It does really help to smoothen and it did help some pore looks slightly refined! Got to try it on my face before knowing how well it works as a primer!

Hello Flawless was released last week and I tried it out and had to get it! It feels soooo light on my skin! I love Hello Flawless in powder form, which I’ve already been through 3 of thoses so I know I had to try the liquid version! Though I don’t use foundation much but this might just make me change my mind!

The white pump looks adorable and it has hydrating properties in it too which helps brighten your skin! Glowy glowy glowy skin! That’s whay I am allll about!

Swatch on the left unblended and on the right blended I am in Toasted Beige if any one was wondering and MAC NC45.

Finally I caved in to get a lipstick from Benefit, have always wanted to try their lipsticks so I am really excited the swatch itself already feels very creamy!

I got the colour Skinny-Dip! I will do a lipswatch soon!

I am very very very excited with all my products! I cannot wait to start using them, and sharing my thoughts with you guys!

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter Review + Swatch + Giveaway!!

Hey girlies!

I have always LOVED Revlon, their products are great and I love that their colour selection is pretty huge so they tend to be the drugstore brand which I am more inclined to!

I’m sure for all you girls who watch/read blogs of gurus in the US would be way too familar with this product! It’s Revlon’s latest product, colourburst lip butter! It comes with a huge range of about 20 colours (correct me if I’m wrong)!

You might notice that these look like the Revlon colourburst lippies which has been out for awhile, which I love too! I did a post on the swatches of the colours I have some time ago! *hardcore fan here*

The darker colours! Though they look similar in this picture, trust me they are pretty different!

Packaging

I really like the packaging, it has this really fun and youthful vibe to it! I really enjoy that the colours of the tube correspond to the lippie colours! Unlike the colourburst (original) where the tubes are black and the colour of the lippie is shown on the top. This is alot easier, especially if you have a relatively huge lippie collection!

I really like the way the lippie tube is made! Especially since it’s a lip butter, it has a higher tendancy of melting and with it being ‘encased’ up this way will help it hold it’s shape! Kudos to Revlon for putting so much thought into the packaging, I think they did a really greaty job!

Hydrating?

On the official Revlon site, these lip butters are described as
“Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%”

I have to say that it is definitely hydrating, I applied this and my lips did not feel dry at all! Since it is supposed to be lip butter I did not apply a chapstick/lip balm before the application and it held up really well.

It felt really light, as if you were not wearing any lippie at all, so for all you girls who dislike lipstick because of the feeling of something on your lips, you’re going to love this!

Pigmentation?

Please ignore my not-too-great lip swatches I will work on them! Promise!

The pigmentation of these will blow your mind! Keeping in mind that they are supposed to be lip butters, they are sooo pigmented! Some if not most of them can pass off easily as lipsticks!

Pink Truffle – Dusty Pink. This for me is a really nice nude-ish colour, since it’s so hydrating and easy to wear I can pop this on any time!

Red Velvet – A deep red. I would never have thought I would try a colour like this, but boy is this gorgeous! I can already foresee this is going to be a well loved one in my collection!

Candy Apple – Muted red with hints of orange. Candy apple is alot more muted down when compared to red velvet. It is still really gorgeous with the hint of orange in it! I think this is colour which would suit almost anyone since it does have a mixture of colours! Depending on your skin tone it might look more red or orange on you!

Sweet Tart – Light fuschia pink. This is another out-of-comfort-zone kinda colour for me! I am pretty tanned so I do not gravitate towards the pinkier colours at all! This is so pretty that it makes me want to go out and get some pink lipsticks!

If you are just starting out in makeup, I say these are a good lip product to start of with. With 3 lip products in 1 (Balm, Lipstick & Lip gloss), it is really cost effective! However if you are looking for a matte shade then sorry this is probably not for you! As for colour selection you will be spoiled for choices, no worries that you won’t be able to find a colour you like!

Hong Kong Haulage!

Hey guys!

So I’ve been so busy & I might not actually blog about my whole HK trip esp since this space should be left for more beauty related stuff! I just decided that it would be great to share with you guys the damaged I made when I was in HK!

I kinda went crazy because there are soooo many high street brands which I have always wanted to try but we don’t get them in Sg

I got NARS Sheer Glow in Syracuse, Eyeshadow in Kalahari, Blush in Taos and Illuminator in Orgasm (which if you didn’t know I already have! I am trying to sell this off! They changed the packaging and I was confused!). Laura Mercier holiday lip glaze, YSL touche eclat in number 3, Mac Mattine Deliciously Forbidden and Bobbi brown shimmer brick in bronze and the creamy concealer and corrector!

I love the NARS foundation and if you guys want I can do a review but I know there are TONS out there already!!

I love the shadow! It’s so neutrally which I love! Taos blush is SO pigmented and it’s really gorgeous! I might do a tutorial soon!

I didn’t swatch the Bobbi Brown concealer because it’s my back up

I love this shimmer brick I have been using it almost everyday! <3 it!

Some high end skin care which I always repurchase! Some for mom too! & some stuff from SASA!! I lOVE the dolly wink liner (review soon! . I got my fav eye makeup remover from Mandom & I decided to try a new one from Kose!

I got the LUSH massage bar, I got 2 infact because I always stock up on thoses when I travel but now I don’t have to since LUSH is in SG! Yay

I loveeee genefiq! It works so well! That is one of me and one of my mom! We totally dig it! Make your skin look soooo good!

I kinda went crazy for Essie too! It’s my latest obsession!
