Empties Post Volume I: January 2013

Hey girls! So I loveeee reading/watching empties post/videos! I have actually tried to do this post before but well, it never happened. lol! I just love finding out what others have been loving so I am starting a new segment on my blog & this is empties post volume I! *yay* I will post short reviews or my verdict on these products before I toss them away!

A collection of my empties (some might have afew more usage), well kinda because I left out a few items so they were not included in the picture above!

First up, we have haircare & bodycare!

Phyto Phytolisse Anti Frizz Shampoo - I have never felt like a shampoo on it’s own has amazing charms to work & really de-frizz my hair. Same thing with this phyto product, it does help smoothen my hair slightly but total anti frizz, not really. Maybe that’s just coz I’ve got way too frizzy hair.lol!

TheBodyShop Satsuma Body Polish - This is one product which I cannot live without!! Whenever I run out of this body polish, I run out to get a new one! Satsuma is one of my favourite scents from TBS so I usually grab it! It smells so fresh & makes me feel so alive after a shower! This is used on days when I feel my skin is needing a scrub to brighten it but I don’t have time/don’t feel like using a full on scrub. This works well since it is just used in replacement of my usual shower gel.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Skin Brightening Facial Scrub - Well I am still using this, not exactly done with it yet & honestly I’ll be sad to part with it! I got this in Aussie when I went in Sept & have not been able to find this range in Sg (why!!!!). I have been using it every single day since I got back from Aussie & I LOVE IT! I need more, my mom is heading back to Aussie next month & yes this will be one of the products that I’ll be getting mom to grab for me ~~five~~ one tube. It has a citrus scent which is soooo refreshing in the morning! Plus it has so beads which really helps in slight exfoliation.

Philosophy Melon Daiquiri - I love love love their shower gels! I bought this when Philosophy just hit our shores but I didn’t use it immediately. It lathers up ALOT, maybe because it is also made to be a bubble bath, but I love that it lathers up so much! Plus it just smells amazing

Phyto ColourTreated Hair Conditioner - Just showing 1 of the container but I’ve use sooo many of these. Since I have really thick hair one little tub can last me 2 washes. This product unlike the shampoo I feel really makes a difference to my hair. It really helps soften & make my hair more managable. As for how it works for colour treated hair, I did not really observe any difference, maybe because I wasn’t paying any attention to it.

LUSH Sympathy For The Skin (Not pictured) – It contains vanilla, cocoa butter & even banana which helps it to be really really moisturizing! I do love how this product works, it isn’t very sticky or tacky. Only down side is that it is in a tub so if you’re the kind who don’t like to dig your hand in products then you might not like it. As for me I don’t feel it’s much of a biggie. Not going to repurchase because it is pretty pricey, plus it has a pretty short shelve life because it’s all natural & I might enjoy my TheBodyShop body butters just a slight bit more, but it’s nice to have a switch up once in a while!

Next up more makeup related products!

Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover - I LOVE LOVE Clarins to bits, I’m sure everyone reading my blog would already know but I feel that this eye makeup remover was, meh. It wasn’t the best I’ve used neither is it the worst, it was just one of those products that I’ve tried & probably will not repurchase. If you wear light eye makeup this works well but with mascara it does take slightly longer to remove. I am still sticking by & loving my Bifesta remover for the time being.

MAC Cleanse Off Oil - I am honestly not a huge fan of makeup removing oils, not sure why, but I just don’t fancy them. Maybe because they tend to cloud up my eye. This removes makeup pretty well, eye makeup & all but the fact that I have to ‘rub’ it over my eye for a bit before it removes the mascara doesn’t please me. Another product which I’ll not repurchase.

Revlon ColourStay - Do I need to say more? Love this product! Awesome coverage & hence I only use it on days where I really feel I need extra coverage. Not a foundation I use on a day to day basis but I feel like I must always have it at hand, just cause. & yes already bought a back up. hehe.

MAC Brush Cleanser - This belonged to momsie, & for the longest time she was using it to wash her brushes!!! Just imagine how much she was using, because that was what the MAC MA taught her! After I taught her how to wash her brushes using baby shampoo/Diaso detergent she has not used it. I took it from her for spot cleaning & I love how it works! Helps me wash my brushes lesser, since I do feel like when I wash them too much they get stray hair much faster! Nothing except olive oil is able to remove my gel liner from the brush but this works like magic! Love how I won’t ever have crusty eyeliner brushes! yay! & I’ve already bought a bottle since.

Benefit Hello Flawless - This product has been repurchased at least twice. I love love this product, I don’t usually use this with a foundation since it is a two way. I usually wear it on it’s own since I don’t need much coverage at all & yes I do get flawless skin Not gonna repurchase it at the moment since I’m trying to get through more products but I would highly highly recommend it!

More makeup products since I forgot to include them!

MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation - I actually am kinda neutral about this foundation. I feel with a good base this foundation does look pretty smooth & satin looking. On it’s own it’s just okay, not that I don’t like it but I also don’t go around raving about it. The coverage is about a medium which can be sheered out slightly. It does tend to feel slightly ‘heavier’ on the skin for a foundation which isn’t full coverage.

the POREfessional Primer - This is one product which I get everyone around me to buy or I just buy it for them. HAHA It is pretty awesome, it gives a really nice smooth finishing to the skin & I wear it even with Benefit’s Hello Flawless & they make an excellent duo! I’ve managed to snagg the jumbo size from Sephora when it was available & I am so pleased with myself HAHA!

Last up, skincare products!

Clarins Bright Plus HP Brightening Hydrating Day Lotion - Phew sucha long name! I love this product, when used as a set with the serum & the toner. On it’s own I feel the efficacy isn’t as great as when used a set. When used as a set I really really see it brighten my skin! As for the day lotion on it’s own, just like every other Clarins product it smells amazing & it is pretty light in texture but it still hydrates the skin pretty well!

Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel - This product has been repurchased by me probably 7-9 times or there about. Yes, a testament of how much I love it? I think almost the whole time while I lived in Aussie I used this. If I remember correctly, this product only launched after I went over & when momsie was there we happened to see it in Myers & I haven’t looked back. It is amazingly hydrating, sometimes I feel its abit hard to see how hydrating products are in Sg since it is pretty humid but I remember in the cold winter months in Aussie this was my life saver! GF came over to visit me & this too was her life saver. I think it speaks volumes since I’ve already purchase almost 10 jars. I have been also using the lip balm, serum (again purchased numerous of these) & the mask. Basically I just love this range to bits.

What I Got For Christmas – Beauty Edition!

Hey girls!

So I know it’s January already (how fast right?) but I promised to do my what I got for Christmas, beauty edition! A little late but better late then never right? If you are the kind who don’t like haul or massive amount of new products mashed into a post, wait for my next post okay!

Quick overview of all the beauty products that I received from my awesome family & friends! They help feed my beauty obsession. Heh heh.

Woooooooots! I’ve actually not played around with all of them yet! Do let me know which products you would like to see a review of first okay!

Plus the awesome Inglot shadows momsie got me in JB! <3

Okayyyyy, let’s get on with all the individual products, shall we?

Philosopyyyyy! I think since philosophy hit our shores, I have been all over the brand! I am almost done with my shower gel, I swear they last forever & they foam up like no other, probably because it also doubles up as a bubble bath or if I may say triple up since it is also a shampoo!

Suga plum fairy & snow angel are both scents released just for the holiday season, so I was so glad I got it for Christmas! As for Snow Angel I have been eyeing it since I got a whiff of it & omg, love love love it! I wish I managed to snag the body wash when it was available but oh wells, gotta wait till the end of this year.

Mac crushed pigments! Wooooooooots! This year I was so sure I would buy something from the Mac holiday collection, but I didn’t. So getting these crushed pigment sets made me soooooooo excited! I tried Mac crushed pigments for the first time in 2012 & I LOVE THEM! They are much better than the normal pigments, they actually do feel very creamy. I know it’s a tad baffling how pigments can feel creamy, I don’t know how they do it but it really is!

I’ve not played with them yet, so I’m really excited to bust them out of the box!

What I got for Christmas Beauty Edition 201211-001

Love love love the colours & the pigmentation! Imagine it with a primer or used wet! Ooooh <3 I must say that this set is pretty unique, I’ve got a crush on you is a really pretty colour which looks different in different lighting hits it!

I really love love love Dusty Desire! I can’t wait to use them! Pretttyyyyy! Femininity looks stunning & so unique in the pot!

The next thing is EXTREMELY EXCITING!!!!! My first ever TOM FORD PRODUCT! *SCREAAAAMS*

The bestest GF got me this! I wanted to YSL holiday palette so much, but by the time we wanted to grab it, it was already SOLD OUT! Hence we walked around Tangs, feeling dejected! GF said I should swatch this TF shadow, honestly I feel TF blushers are just okay so I wasn’t that excited about swatching the shadows BUTTTTTT I think TF shadows are actually pretty awesome

I was tossing to & fro between this & another colour – which I can’t even remember which one. LOL!

Behold, my first ever Tom Ford product! Wooohooo! Don’t mind the photo-bomb. Hehe.

They don’t emboss the TF on the shadows! It’s actually embossed on the plastic placed on top of the product.

The shadows are really luxurious & they look so pretty! I love love the 2nd & 3rd colour the most! The picture doesn’t do it justice at all!!! I wore it out & momsie was complimenting my eye look!

Oh another thing reallyyyyy cool! The palette is able to open up fully & lay flat down!

Random brands thrown together, but I love them all.

I actually picked this up myself since i’ve been hearing so much raves about it, especially MissGlamorazzi! It is so so so prettyyy!!! When I went to pick it up, it was the LAST one! In fact the SA in Tangs told me that it’s all sold out! Refusing to believe I can’t find it, I went to Ion & managed to get it! YAY! BUT BUT BUT I dropped & it CHIPPED 2 days after I got it. >.<

My first ever YSL polish! Wooooots! It feels very watery when you look at it, but when applied it applies like a dream! First YSL polish and I’m definitely not going to stop at 1!

Picture from Instagram which I mention, the colour in real life is much much darker & deeper. Which honestly I am not a huge fan, but I’ll still use it & I still love it.

Nars Pure Matte in Carthage & Nars Lippie in CatFight!

Both of these are colours which I usually don’t gravitate towards! I have to wear CatFight slightly sheered out else I’ll look ghastly! Carthage looks like a really bright pink & it really is, but I love it! It is my first pure matte lippie & i LOVE it! It doesn’t even really feel drying at all!

Finally the last brand, Givenchy. Another first & I was pretty stoked!

First 2 products from Givenchy & I am eyeing the shadows too, I swatched them and it felt very luxurious & pigmented!

There are 4 different coloured powder, honestly I was attracted to the pastel coloured powder but but it was a tad to shimmery

I love the cover, & how the hole to dispense the powder are all ‘G’s.

The only time the sponge will look so gorgeous! It looks all messed up already.lol!

I was so enticed by the gloss too! #makeupjunkie Plus I love love the packaging! When you first apply the gloss, the brush head is super hard, which is probably how you can tell that no one has used it before! By the end of the first application it becomes soft just like how any lipgloss brush would feel like!

It’s actually just a clear gloss but it has coppery coloured shimmers in it so it’s really gorgeous! I much prefer how it looks in the tube to be honest and if it applied as the rich colours it appears to be, that would be stunning!

Hope this long entry was somewhat interesting, just sharing the beauty stuff I got for Christmas & I am sooooo excited to get to play with these new beauties! Will be aiming to do more tutorials (yes, tutorials!) & reviews on elizabeauty in 2013! :D

Mini MAC + Giorgio Armani Haul & Swatches!

Everyone has been raving about the Volcanic Ash Exfoliator so when I heard it’s coming out in the Heavenly Creature collection I was super excited and wanted to pick it up. However for some unknown reasons they did not release it, Joanna (MissJojo) told me that DFS has it! I should have asked her pick it up for me, I would have only spend $49! LOL.

However roaming DFS made me spend alot more! I got tempted by Eyes to kill which Sara, Meryl, Danielle and alot of my other blogger friends have been raving about! I finally caved in, welcome me to the club! hehe (:

My haul!

MAC Volcanic Ash which I feel is really good! After 1 wash you can feel your skin is softer, however the smell isn’t the most pleasant one out there. It contains volcanic ash which is supposed to help slug off dead skin cells more efficiently.

I’ve never tried any MAC skincare products and I wanted to try the charged water eyecream because MakeupbyTiffanyD was raving about it! I have been using it and I feel it’s just alright. A very very basic eye cream, suitable if you’re looking for your first eyecream.

Eyes to kill! <3 <3 I asked the MA if these will dry up, she actually told me they won’t because of how they are made. Unlike cream shadows theses are pressed powder

The 3 that I caved in & got!

All pretty neutral colours, the blues and darker colours were gorgeous but I really don’t use colours like that often so I decided to skip them!

23! This is gorgeous <3 it has a slight hint of blue on the eyes but it’s soooooo pretty! Works well as a highlight!

26. I kinda grabbed this on a whip. I like it but don’t love it actually! It is pretty neutral so I won’t have any issues since it is pretty wearable!

28. I love the gold speck!!!! *screams* It adds a little something giving the colour abit more dimension!

Swatched! Honestly they look prettier in the pot. LOL but I still love them! Just a head up, everyone have said they do not crease but they crease on me without a primer, no issue since all I have to do is just use my NARS primer! I do have pretty oily lids so that might be why it creases on me!

MAC Heavenly Creature Haul + Swatches!

HELLO GIRLS! I AM SUPER DUPER UBER MEGA EXCITED!!!! HENCE THE CAPS. Okay chill down eliza!:D

If you saw my insta, you would have seen my picture I posted on my MAC Heavenly Creature’s Haul!!! Wooots, within minutes that picture garnered so many likes & comments! Well, what can I say these products are quite a head turner!

Just FYI I only got these yesterday so this is just a haul + swatch, I’ve not used them yet so I really don’t know how well they hold up etc!

Annnnddd thank you GF for taking picture of all the products for me yesterday! <3 <3 I just sat there relaxed & chatted with her while she did all the snapping in my light box! lol!

Mineralised Skin Finish in Centre of the Universe & Earthshine. I was quite disappointed with the MSFs though, I really wanted Light Year, but it looked like NARS Orgasm on me! So I skipped it! I also really wanted Star Wonder, but it was a tad too pink for my liking!

The 4 pretty shadows, which I honestly had zero intention of picking, okay maybe except Bright Moon!

O.O I LOVE HOW THEY LOOOK!

Magnetic Attraction eyeshadow. I almost left without getting this! Gf swatched it & was I was like, omg it’s so pretty! Though I might use this more as a blush? We shall see!

BRIGHT MOON BRIGHT MOON! I really wanted this even before I saw it in real life because it’s sooooooo pretty! *sighs* Sara aka icy abstract was considering it and when I send her a picture of it. She was sold! It is just so pretty! You can’t blame a girl for liking pretty things! :p It will make an awesome highlighter!

Can you believe it’s the only blusher i got! I planned to get 2 blushers & I really wanted to like Stratus but it looked terrible! I really thought it would have worked really well with darker skin tone but umm nope, not mine at least!

Kate Spade Haul!

heyyy girls! *waves*

So i made this haul like about a month ago, maybe? I’ve just been swamped with other post pushing this to one side Finally decided I NEED to show this to you guys!

This was what happened when I went shopping with gf, one fine day. & no this isn’t always the outcome *I WISH. haha* It was just one of those, I want everything days :p

MAC was mainly mom’s stuff, which I’ve already posted a haul cum swatch post! As for Chanel it was skincare! I am slowly but surely wanting to move onto Chanel for my skincare, decided to try just 1 product to see how I feel. & I think I might be switching once my current skincare is done!

The REAL HAUL Kate Spade! I mad love Kate Spade because of the colours! Especially spring/summer colours, they never fail to capture my heart! Plus I am actually quite a bag lover!

This is the reason I went into Kate Spade, I really really really LOVE THIS BAG! I saw it before but decided to ‘forget’ it but I just could not! :p The leather is so so so so soft! <3

The only thing is that it’s a tad small, but I think I should learn to use smaller bags and stop torturing my shoulders!

I’ve always wanted a KS wallet but every time I take too long to decide & it always sells out when I go back! So this time I decided, cannot let the chance slip away! I really love the colour & I can just carry this out if I want to

Haul: MAC Hey, Sailor!

So this haul was sparked because of momsie! MAC send her the mailer that Hey, Sailor & she was super excited!

I got her the turquoise pencil from MAC To The Beach & she adores it! So every time a collection is released she will ask me if there is anything similar! This time she was captivated by Blue Stripe!

This whole haul belongs to momsie! haha, okay except for one item! :p

Naval Blue Pigment, this is AMAZING! I mad love it! We are sharing this, because really no one can ever finish a jar of pigment! hehe. The colour is to die for!

2 lippies! I could not decide which colour mom would prefer so i grabbed both! Red Racer & Sail La Vie! Momsie ended up giving me Red Racer!

Haul: Anna Sui, Clarisonic & MAC Shop Cook/Vera Collection!

This is a long long LONG overdue post, but I really wanted to share with you guys the awesome stuff which I have gotten in the past few months!

So I finally caved in and got the Clarisonic Mia! I was ordering new products for my shop BeautyJunkieBag & decided that I should just get the Mia! I have been wanting the Mia since like umm forever? I got the lilac, my favourite colour!

I didn’t get any additional brush head so I am just using the one which came with the Mia. I’ve started using it for about maybe 8-10 days & I love it thus far! I am currently getting through the purging phrase, no massive breakout for me (thank goodness), just 2 zit! I usually don’t get zits so even 2 is already kinda annoying me. lol!

I’m loving my Mia! I will do a review in about 3 weeks time? I just want to try it for about a month before doing a proper review!

Anna Sui released their spring collection ’12 some time back! I was really really excited to check them out because they look stunning! I could just do nothing and stare at them! They also have a really lovely rose scent!

#300.

I was very impressed with this series of Anna Sui blushers because they are usually not very pigmented but these were really pigmented! Also because there are a few different coloured flowers, depending on how you swirl your brush you will get a slightly different colour.

#100.

I just wanted this because of the colour. It is so so so gorgeous! It looks really nice as a highlight too!

I dropped by the MAC counter with gf & I saw this lady buggy which I knew I really really really wanted!

It is a pretty highlighter but I must say it is not a must have! But well the lady buggy is a must have. hehe I am trying not to use the lady buggy area because I don’t want it to fade away! LOL!

I also got my first set of crushed pigments! Honestly I had zero intentions of getting these because for one I am not huge on wearing shadows and also because I don’t fancy working with pigments! However I was sold when I swatched these I was sold! This may sound very weird but they are soooo creamy! Don’t ask me how pigments can feel creamy but they really are!

Aloha, Shifting Sands, Campfire, Lantern Light.

Are they not just gorgeous?

I haven’t used it a whole lot, since I don’t use shadows that often but I am going to make a point to use these more!

Finally Mac Shop Cook! Which I was really really looking foward to, however I was not as excited when I saw the collection in real life. lol.

The tendertones were the rave of the collection, I picked up 2 in Hot ‘n’ Saucy & Thread gently.

I like them, they smell really really good but I won’t really go crazy for them. I kinda prefer the Fresh tinted lip balms a tad more!

I also got a kissable lip colour on a whimp in scan-delicious! If you are not familar with the kissable lip colours, they are something like liquid lipsticks. I like them because they are very pigmented but they are not sticky!

I swatched it and it is the most gorgeous deep colour. I don’t wear much deep colours but this I can foresee myself wearing a whole lot! Plus it’s kinda like lipgloss formulation so it’s alot more wearable!

Hong Kong Haulage!

Hey guys!

So I’ve been so busy & I might not actually blog about my whole HK trip esp since this space should be left for more beauty related stuff! I just decided that it would be great to share with you guys the damaged I made when I was in HK!

I kinda went crazy because there are soooo many high street brands which I have always wanted to try but we don’t get them in Sg

I got NARS Sheer Glow in Syracuse, Eyeshadow in Kalahari, Blush in Taos and Illuminator in Orgasm (which if you didn’t know I already have! I am trying to sell this off! They changed the packaging and I was confused!). Laura Mercier holiday lip glaze, YSL touche eclat in number 3, Mac Mattine Deliciously Forbidden and Bobbi brown shimmer brick in bronze and the creamy concealer and corrector!

I love the NARS foundation and if you guys want I can do a review but I know there are TONS out there already!!

I love the shadow! It’s so neutrally which I love! Taos blush is SO pigmented and it’s really gorgeous! I might do a tutorial soon!

I didn’t swatch the Bobbi Brown concealer because it’s my back up

I love this shimmer brick I have been using it almost everyday! <3 it!

Some high end skin care which I always repurchase! Some for mom too! & some stuff from SASA!! I lOVE the dolly wink liner (review soon! . I got my fav eye makeup remover from Mandom & I decided to try a new one from Kose!

I got the LUSH massage bar, I got 2 infact because I always stock up on thoses when I travel but now I don’t have to since LUSH is in SG! Yay

I loveeee genefiq! It works so well! That is one of me and one of my mom! We totally dig it! Make your skin look soooo good!

I kinda went crazy for Essie too! It’s my latest obsession!

NOTD: MAC Mischievous Mint Polish

Hey guys!

So if you read my MAC Quite Cute haul post which was just 2 post before, you would know that one of the items which I got was the nail polish in mischievous mint! I was super happy to get it, seeing that I have nothing of this colour in my huge collection! Although it has been compared to China Glaze’s Refresh-Mint I really don’t see any similarities what not, well except the obvious that they are both MINT-GREEN! haha

I don’t own the whole lot of MAC polishes, previously I’ve had 2 and I added another 2 to my collection this time round! I really LOVE the packaging of the polishes with MAC’s signature black-matte-slightly-rubbery-to-the-touch cap! It just makes the polish look so much prettier. Don’t ask why, I just get obsessed with small stuff like this. haha

Honestly MAC polishes in terms of application is really not my favourite, I feel like almost every other brand I’ve tried has beat MAC hands down. Even China Glaze which sometimes I feel is a pain to apply, does it a tad better than MAC. I had abit of problems painting this, maybe firstly because I was kinda tired but also the colour was a tad streaky. With application of the second coat it is so much better but definitely ensure that you do not apply it too thick, else it becomes very un-even!

Here is the swatch of it, honestly I am not very pleased with how it is painted, don’t judge The colour however is gorgeous and if it’s just for the colour I would totally put myself through all that pain just to get it on my nails! I’m not sure if it is similar to Essie’s Mint Candy Apple which alot of people rave about, but this is a must have this season with pastels being so huge! However being limited edition would also mean that you have to act fast else it’s gonna fly off the shelves faster than you can say mischievous-mint!haha

Despite it being a chore to work with, the 2 MAC that I went to did not have this colour already! Not too sure about the other counters but if you think this is something you NEED in your collection and you don’t mind going the extra mile to make it work, definitely go out and get it now!
